For 2012, Mercedes - Benz E Class has a new model and engine , with standard 4MATIC all-wheel for the E550 . Available in four different body styles (Coupe, Convertible, Sedan, and Wagon) and several different engine configurations. Base E350 models include a completely new 3.5-liter direct-injection V-6, making 302 horsepower, while E550 models get a new 4.6-liter direct-injection V-8 that makes 402 horsepower. The E350 BlueTec diesel carries its 210-horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine forward from last year. Several of the sedans and wagons can be had in 4Matic all-wheel drive (rear-wheel drive is standard across the range), and all models share a standard seven-speed automatic transmission.
